MOI
what is the moi of a uniform cube about an axis which passes through centre
my thinking:
a rod's moi about centroidal axis is (ml^2)/12
a square plate is just integration of multiple rods of same moi therefore moi of square plate about x or y axis is also (ml^2)/12
similarly cube's moi should be (ml^2)/12 as well but its not. why?

yes whi hai
par why?, without integration pls, the way i got for square plate
uhh without intergration:thinker:
square plate ka MOI ml^2/6 hota hai
Centre axis k about
To cube in sare plate ko stack krke hi to banega
i think ur right but the mi of square plate is coming out to me ml^2/6
ml^2/12 tab aaega jab woh same side ke plate ka half karde
if what ive found out is correct
u can find mi of square plate by taking an element at a distance x from centroidal axis of length l and breadth dx and then take range of l from 0 to l/2
that will give ml^2/12 but it would be of half
woh z axis pe hua na , which here is centroidal
ig in a cube x or y or z centroidal ka hi kaam karegi islie centroidal of square lamina wala aaya
which actually makes sense cuz then we can also say any axis passing through centre of cube has MI ml^2/6
woh depend karta hai tumne kya axis lia hai since its square lamina is 2d
but haan har case me centroidal to ml^2/6 hi hoga
yes
hn makes sense
