Appeal the ban ^
But chat abuse bans are normally manually reviewed. So it’s unlikely you will be unbanned
In VALORANT most of their penalties and bans that are distributed are automated. There are too many games going on for people to review every single case. Otherwise they would have to report them to support for it to be manually reviewed.
But approved appeals for the most part are unlikely
The automatic system was implemented recently. And still is in beta. But that’s why I said “normally”. But most voice abuse reports are done manually.
No? Valorant has been doing automated bans forever
Here's schmick from 9 months ago even saying they're all automated, it's nothing new it's been a feature
Maybe you're thinking about voice chat specifically, since that hasn't always had an automated system
The automated system handling voice reports is named “Riot Voice Evaluation”. According to current public knowledge, it is only available in North America and English only. The system is designed to be able to punish players without needing manual review at all, using voice data that has been trained on using AI.
Before, automated systems for voice abuse were not fully automated and could only detect very simple threats and behavior. Essentially, it was just speech to text, and then it did the same thing as the text chat. However, this new system does not run for every player.
For text abuse the system is partly automated for conventional words (like slurs, the N word, etc). These will provided the player with an immediate suspension. While the system that is automatic for unconventional words or pattern recognition flags it for menu review and does not issue any bans immediately. According to public knowledge.
Also in your screenshots I don't believe, she was talking about any comm abuse and was simply talking about cheats.
If you have anymore questions please contact Riot. I personally know developers that work on the support team and have talked to them about these kinds of systems. As far as I last have checked all of the information I provided is 100% as they said.
2 years ago she says right here the text chat systems are automated
This is not the only incident of it
All reports submitted on valorant are automated
The only ones that are manual are ones submitted to Support
So yes it is automatic and manual, but the only ones that are manually handled are the ones submitted via Support
Maybe they’re improving how they do automated systems with the use of AI, but the systems have always been automated
Maybe that don’t ban right away but that’s because the system doesn’t t go off right away. Sometimes they’ll go into another game, act the same way and receive similar reports, and then they get actioned. Thats why some don’t happen immediately after a game.
But there has never been any manual moderators or moderation in Valorant outside of the official support
Toxicity can't be detected with an automated system. The system that we had a bit ago could only detect stuff that was already flagged.
They would need to be some type of pattern recognition which the system did not have
Right they renewed it, but it has always been automated
It’s never been manual outside of official support reports
And no the game can't always detect toxicity itself, but it can detect when someone gets reported for toxicity in 3 different games by 3 different users in a short amount of time
Reports that are submitted in game are done automatically and manually. But they haven't revealed exactly of how it works yet. But as far as what I have heard there is no system that is completely automatic system for toxic behavior as toxic behavior cannot be detected if a black listed word is not used.
Player reports do not issue a ban. It may increase the priority of it being reviewed by someone or a system. But player reports even if they're reported hundreds of thousands of times would never automatically issue a ban.
Valorant doesn't have manual moderation and it never has
According to who?
Outside of official Val support
Schmick has said numerous times
Though they work on the player report team?
You don't need to work on the player report team to know how your report system works. Schmick wouldn't be informing people of a feature if she wasn't sure that's how it worked.
I'm also curious where you get the information that they do manual moderation
Because I've never heard of this and have only heard of automated systems
And no offense, but I'm heavily inclined to believe someone who works at Riot who's known to give truthful information over someone who doesn't.
Not that I'm saying I think you're lying or anything - but that I personally trust her word more.
I'm getting confirmation from someone that works on the team
One sec

I also found this official Valorant article showing the percentage of each ban, manual and automatic
Vanguard x VALORANT
How the anti-cheat team continues to evolve as cheaters do.
The manual bans are in red
Granted this is for Anti-Cheat specifically
But notice how tiny they are in red. Chances are if there were actual manual moderation, they'd be a higher percent
It's possible that certain Cheat specific cases can get manually reviewed by a small team, that I can believe. But otherwise for the most part, if it's not reported to support, it's automatic
i got banned for saying brainrot and they denied my appeal
i tihnk they just dont like negative energy
only when manually rfeviewe dtho
or just reported alot ig
or maybe uif you get automatically muted cuz so many peolple reported u or whatever they kinda just look for excuses to keep u muted
iudk just my theory lol
