Way to Prevent Portals past a Certain Distance?
I'm wondering if there's a plugin or some other method to prevent nether portals (or just prevent obsidian/crying obsidian) from being placed by players past a certain distance. I want to make sure that the players don't go past the overworld border via nether portals, which I currently have by setting the world border in the nether to 8x smaller than the overworld (overworld border is a 50k block radius and nether is 6250), but that feels really small and I want to give players enough space to explore, mine, and loot. Is there a way to either prevent portals from being activated or prevent obby/crying obby from being placed past the equivalent border, or is there perhaps an intuitive way to alter/get rid of the spacial dilation between the nether and overworld (make it so, say, (1,000X 1,000Z) in the nether corresponds to (1,000X 1,000Z) in the overworld)? Or do I just have to deal with it as-is?

why not just do nothing? have you tested what happens if a player places a portal that should theoretically put them outside the world border? does it not force them back to being inside the border?
I have not tested that, I probably should have. The server isn’t actually public yet, I’m testing it on my own system with my main and my alt accounts. I should probably test what happens if they put a portal that should go past the Overworld border and go from there.
If it just sends them back to the border then it shouldn’t matter how big the nether is, correct? Since it’ll just put them back to the border in a presumably safe spot? I’m using Chunky and ChunkyBorder, debating whether or not to set the vanilla world border too
it mite just put the portal on the edge
i dont think it teleports them
(im talking about vanilla border)
Ah
in vanilla minecraft, the world border is per server, not per dimension
spigot changes this
make it per dimension (world)
so im not 100% sure exactly what happens, since normally in vanilla mc u cant modify the nether border without modifying the overworld
I’m definitely gonna have to look into this more
I checked, it does this if the nether goes beyond the border of the equivalent coords of overworld. I can set the nether's border to whatever and it won't matter. I'll just set them to the same cuz why not  thanks!
