Suit Feedback and Questions (Tie advice)

Hey folks, few questions here. I know I need my pants adjusted, but how can I tell if I need the top? Is there a good video that I can reference to tell if the arm length is good, etc? In the second pic I have my arms back to show the way that the suit bends on the V when done up. I thought this was probably fine, but wanted to check. The shirt is a little more yellow than is in the picture. I'm trying to find tie and sock advice. I will even take shoe advice although currently I have these: https://www.johnnybigg.com.au/au/black-bennet-suede-driver-j233fwd205 My choices for ties due to the time until the event are otaa - https://www.otaa.com/collections/neckties and Johnny Bigg - https://www.johnnybigg.com.au/au/big/accessories/ties-bowties-pocket-squares/ I can do an updated pic with a few ties from Bigg, but not possible with otaa. It's a formal business awards event, though I will not be going up for anything. I am getting a face overhaul before the event!

I've read through Shujin's guide, which is how I knew this was the right suit for me. But made to measure wasn't possible in the timeline I had

Hi - I am unfamiliar with the Australian tie companies so I'm not gonna comment there. But I will say that your suit jacket looks too tight in the pictures you posted. This might be because you're buttoning the button button on your jacket which you aren't supposed to do but regardless if it feels tight/uncomfortable when the top button is buttoned you should talk to a tailor about letting the jacket out. The sleeves are definitely too long. Generally you want a little bit of the end of your shirt collar peaking out - I usually like about 1/2" but plenty of people will do 1" so it's also a bit of preference. A tailor will be able to advise you on this as well. Make sure to bring a well fitting dress shirt with you so they can use that as a reference

Oh it only looks that way because my arms are pushed back to show off the fold that it does. I'm not supposed to button the bottom button? Good to know. I should have done a third normal picture for that one, apologies. Thank you for the advice about a well fitting dress shirt - I can definitely do that.

The length looks about where you want your dress shirt cuff to land, about at the base of your thumb. And your jacket length should allow some of the shirt cuff to show. Some suggest about half an inch, or roughly the same as the length of shirt that shows above the back of your jacket. But it’s not just about how the shirt and jacket look with your arms at your side. If the shirt armhole is too big, the shirt could ride up your forearm when you bend your arm. Ideally you should have about the same length of shirt showing beyond your jacket with your arm bent as well
