i don't know if you saw my reply in bazzite channel, but this is game issue if you have multiple input devices. Try disabling all other mic inputs in audio settings of your DE or with pavucontrol. while also deleting game.ini(backup it first) file inside squad prefix it should be somewhere inside you steam library folder
<SteamLibrary-folder>/steamapps/compatdata/393380/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/SquadGame
if that doesn't work try editing audioinputdevice manually inside game.ini fileI did this and squad gets "sound" from nothing and nobody can hea rme
hey any luck?? I'm using a USB mic. Bazzite sees it just fine, but zero audio comes through anywhere in the OS
can you open mentioned game.ini and check value for
AudioInputDevice
? for me it is AudioInputDevice=PulseAudio Input
which should be default input, try edit it that wayThis did not fix it
setting it to pulseaudio ingame doesn't work either
jesus christ this is aggregavting
I can SEE squad's interface lighting up with sounds
and it still doesn't work?
people cnanot hear me but the optioons tester bar in green that I posted is indicating when I'm speaking correctly.
and with tool like helvum can you see if squad input is going to your input device? https://flathub.org/apps/org.pipewire.Helvum
also all this shit
Is there a way I can reset everything in my OS to default?
are you on gnome or KDE ?
kde
can you send screenshot from KDE audio settings
other games work btw
switch it to analog, almost never use digital
same for output
what is your input and output card?
I'm not sure what you're asking I use a usb-c dongle.
that's a huge shame because it distorts at loud volume
nothing stops you from lowering volume
i used dongle at 25%
analogue did not fix it
I dont understand
the bar moves when I talk, so why the fuck isn't it VOIPing?
could it be a firewall problem with voip?
no that should be no problem, Squad also have sometimes have bug (maybe already fixed) where mic will not work until you disconnect and reconnect. But that is very rare
well I've reconnected, reinstalled squad, rebooted...
but also even on windows there are some people who have problem with squad not picking their mic at all...
but wtf~!
is the device supposed to be discoverable in steam voice?
because it isn't.
it should be
How would I rectify that issue?
interestingly it detects my analog output, but not input.
so I am noticing that my audio in general has a "pro mode" which everything can switch to
same option for mic
did you set it to analog + mono input? or only analog?
only analoig.
which is not detected by steam audio
pro is, but the test does not work.
set it to analog + mono input
mono input nukes all sound.
the first option analog stereo output + mono input
Yes, what's what I had been testing
but selecting "mono input" explicitly nukes audio.
I think, like almost all of my linux problems, this is caused by steam itself
what do you mean nuke audio
yes that what I wanted it
Analog stereo output + Mono Input
not only Mono Input
yeah both were tested
also try again by deleting game.ini file before testing new configuration
I reinstalled the entire game and deleted relevant compatdata, is this not equivalent?
I am very voncerned now that steam voice is now to blame.
yes that the same
does your mic work somewhere else? game, browser, discord?
everywhere else that has been tested.
could you try running squad with WINENOPULSE=1?
@Vardayn
itll force proton to use alsa for your stuff
it can
maybe
work
just put
WINENOPULSE=1 %command%
on the game launch optionshmmm
it would be so funny if it just worked
nope
but like
can you take a little better screenshot of the helvum thing?
your output looks very weird, you should have so many nodes
helvum?
yeyeye
honestly
that thing lemme link it
it's hard to get it all in one frame
if you mean the audio flow thing
this
yeah like
do you have an audio interface on ur system?
I'm not sure what you're askiung
like this is the entirety of mine
audio interface i mean by that thing that professionals related to audio use to get very very high quality audio
no
so you system should have 1 billion of those nodes
thats so weird like what.
Theres some random pro audio thing.
which I have disabled
oh ye
the default should be "Analog Audio (whatever i forgot)"
this
the one without mono input
but like, can you hear yourself on discord loopback?
it doesn't make a difvference
hmmmmmm
im sorry if this situation is frustrating for you
its very weird its kinda hard to see someone with this kind of issue
does your computer have multiple places to plug in your microphone?
like, mine has 1 on the front, and 1 on the back
My headseat is a 2.4ghz dongle
Can i purge all OS config? I want the nuclear option but not to reformat.
i believe there isnt any option like that yet :(
