help. i tried using potential method and kcl, cant get answer. (answer is (4) 'r')

Always label the same terminals and try to draw the equivalent circuit it will be easier to see which resistors are in series and which in parallel
The circuit which is to the right is the equivalent circuit which is just a Weatstone bridge
