144hz 144fps vs 60hz 144fps
I am new to Valorant but the laptop I'm using has 60hz refresh rate but I m getting around 120 to 140 fps. Should I get a monitor with 144hz and how big is the difference?

higher hz is nice
it feels smoother
100%, it's a huge difference I'm on 240 hz and sometimes 144 hz feels slow to my eyes, but the jump from 60 hz to 144 hz is insane you'll definitely feel the difference
I will upgrade to 144hz when I can
The fact that u r ONLY getting 140 fps in a game like val
I would never get a 144 hz monitor
What are ur laptop specs?
It's a laptop for mostly studying purposes. It has an i7 with 16gb ram but no graphics card. So the battery lasts longer
Yea don't get a 144 hz monitor
But technically 144 fps is for 144hz right?.
Trust me its a waste to get a 144 hz monitor with a laptop like that
Okay, I don't think I can do much to increase fps since it has the basic Intel iris graphics card.
unlock your fps and see how much you're getting, if you're getting 140+ fps consistently then you'll notice a huge difference from 60 to 144 hz
financially tho... I don't know, can't give advice on that :(
i7 which gen
Financially, since I'm not an international student it's not that hard for me to afford a 144hz monitor however not sure if it's worth it.
13th gen, i7-1355U
I will check it again when the laptop is plugged in because performance wise laptops perform better when plugged in.
if your laptop can run 144fps then 144htz is fine
it’ll look way way better trust me
u can get a 120 hz monitor too
if ur not pushing above 144 hz
thanks for the idea
brother anything above 100hz feels like heaven when you experience it for the first time
(trust i have experience)
same
I went from 60 to 144 and it was crazy
once you go there you cant go back tho
like i went from 75 to 180hz and its a struggle like i dont think i could play oin 75 anymore
i chose a 180hz monitor and i get above 500fps average
with ur frames it might be better to save for abetter system instead of better monitor
I bought this laptop for study purposes as I started college this year and also bought a gaming laptop and had to return it because the battery life was horrible and they are heavy compared to laptops with no graphics card. I know gaming laptops are meant to be played while plugged in but if that's the case, I am going to be building my first PC next summer most likely. I have been a PS gamer since middle school. Therefore, I am new to PC gaming.
I just want to thank all the people that took the time and effort to share their ideas.
60 to 144 is a huge increase. I wont say it can increase your skill a lot, but it gonna make your gameplay much more comfortable
So if you wanna competitively play val, go get it
144hz monitor isnt necessarily a waste as you can always upgrade your laptop/pc at any time
go for it
True, I will be looking out for the deals on monitors. Does brand really matter as long as it's 144hz?
honestly just make sure it looks good
I’m not a big fan of most monitors having red parts on the front tbh
i get the sceptre brand from amazon, its usually the cheapest option and it works well for me
You're better off getting a better rig with that money
60 to 144hz is a HUMONGUS noticeable difference, 144 hz to 240 is not that much noticeable.
144hz is definitely worth it, yes, just make sure you’re actually getting those fps.
yeah for some reason 144-240 is barely noticeable but 240-540 is very noticeable
and apparently there is now a 1000htz in 4k res which is insane
koorui is a fire brand
I have a 2 of their 180hz monitors they were only 110$ a piece
1080p
guys icl
my laptop with 60 hz broke and i got a new gaming laptop with 144 hz display a month later
i can feel the difference when i switch between 60 hz and 144 but the gameplay doesn't automatically get better or more comfortable it just feels the same to me
maybe cus i hadn't played games for a month
honestly 60 and like 144 is a HUGE difference, even higher if you want. But I'm pretty sure studies said that 144 to like 240 isn't that big of a difference than 60 is to 144
How much fps should a 2060 super and a ryzen 5 get me in Val just curious for my friend
Expect over 200 at all times
I have a rtx 4060, Ryzen 5 7600, 32gb ddr5 and the lowest I’ve seen is 390 fps for me and the highest is 1100 fps
Is that consistent
Nah consistent 500 and up tho
