Administration Password
So I finally finish my installation for Bazzite from Windows 11 was previously using Pop for my Linux, and just wanted to swap over to a more gamer friendly one.
I've recently ran into an issue where it's not letting me use my original password for my storage units, and keeps denying my other passwords I had previously not allowing me access or format any hard drive.
I tried the default password - Nothing
I've tried my older password on Pop - Nothing
And I've tried resetting password from terminal - Authentication token manipulation error.

It's currently asking for a administrator password, and when I put in mine it does nothing
I am doing some Sudo commands too, and it states I am not the Sudoers file
Only way that could have happened is if you made a custom user in the installer and didn't check the administrator option
Unfortunately if that's the case the easiest fix is to go ahead and reinstall and be more careful in that section
If you did not touch user creation in any way, your username is bazzite and your password is bazzite
Please change that as soon as possible
There was no administrator option when I was making my custom user
If you need me to I can reinstall, and go on my phone to show if I see it or not
So do I need to make sure the check box is checked?
Yes
Alright I'm on phone
Let me go through everything again real quick
Okay I see its checked automatically
I also change the username when I put in my password, and when I reinstall previous before coming here it was still giving me the administrator thing
I decided to not touch the username, and the advanced options
I think thats what it was I was touching the advance options, and change the group stuff
Possible why stuff wasn't working
While we wait for the install I am using a RTX 3060, and I do notice my fans don't run would I need to get a separate program to make sure the fans are running?
fan control is built into the hardware
you don't need any extra software
if you set custom groups,
wheel
determines you're an admin
lack of that would cause the issueHm
After my first try to installing this I still notice fans were still not running which honestly concerned me.
very normal on modern GPUs
a lot of them do not spin up the fans until they reach ~60*C
you're not exactly using you GPU in an installer
sound reasons
Right
I mean this is my third pc I built myself so it's something new to me really
Which is why when I see that I tend to get MSI Afterburner to run the fans
But after all this I am really temping to get a pre build after this PC slowly kicks the bucket since building PCs can still be a stressful job itself, and to me three was enough haha.
Alright! Everything is fixed! It was me replacing the Wheel group with my own, and it wasn't allowing me to do anything
Thank you
