reasonable plugin amount

people always go crazy when they see a plugin list with like 60+ plugins but is it better to install plugins with a lot of feature which you will use 30% of or multiple very small plugin which you will use 100% And when you write custom plugins for your server do you make a seperate plugin like you would make different skripts in skript or would you just make one plugin for your whole server im asking these questions bc i want to stop using skript and start making custom server features the right way 🗿 (if someone has some tips to start learning plugin developement pls tell me. maybe some do and donts or a youtuber with great tutorials or web courses etc)

It’s all personal choice balanced with ensuring plugins aren’t taking up too much of the main thread and eating up MSPT The main downside to having a lot of plugins is having difficulty when updating your server Other than that, ensuring that all plugins are performant and not hogging the main thread, which you can monitor in a spark profile I know a server called FoundationCraft that uses 1 single plugin to create their entire feature rich gamemode and they just update that one plugin overtime. On one of my gamemodes, we’re developing 90% of the features of the server on 1 plugin, but have other supporting plugins like CoreProtect, WorldGuard, etc But I have also seen other servers with good performance with over 120 plugins, just depends on how you monitor how your server is affected by each plugin I personally find about 60 plugins is manageable since only about 10-12 of them need to be updated each version change
