Bazzite-Framework Steam Game Mode Compatibility
Hey All! I'm upgrading my framework laptop to the Intel Ultra main board, and using my old 13th gen intel with the cooler master kit to set it up as a media center on my TV. I'm planning on using Bazzite for both, but any tips on how I can set up the media center to be more convenient/accessible to my less technologically inclined partner?
I saw that Bazzite says both framework in general, and Intel 13th gen specifically are incompatible with the steam game mode version. At least, that is how I interpreted it. Am I understanding how that works correctly, or is there some home I could set up the steam game mode with Bazzite on the 13th gen intel as a media center?
Alternatively, I'm fine with just using KDE or GNOME as usual, but any tips for how I can make it more media-center like/compatible with a TV remote are welcome!
Also, I'm well aware of Kodi and the media center type Distro's, but I would still like to use Bazzite for this machine for a number of reasons. Thanks for the help!

gamemode only work on graphic cards like amd polaris, rdna1 and newer and intel arc (idk about xe, kyle might know)
you can also change the steam autostart to add
-bigpicture
as a launch arg or change it in steam settings so the steam desktop starts in big picture mode, it will lack all the functionality of gamemode but it will at least give you the big picture UIThere's a bug with Game scope that causes it to not see any displays on that hardware
Waiting for it to be fixed
guessing this is one where gamescope-legacy wont help either?
right, only happens on dual-amd laptops so far
ah
but doesnt this person want to use the old intel board as a htpc? @Kyle Gospo, should be unaffected then 🤔 although idk if the intel gpu on framework is even supported by gamescope
old intel board is a likely dead end
I don't think any gamescope version works with those
ok
Thanks all! That was informative
