FSR implementation and activation?

Hi, I have a HP Elitedesk 705 G4 mini pc that has a Ryzen 5 2400G APU. I use it in the lounge connected to my TV for gaming on Steam and for casual web browsing. It works well, however, the SSD is almost full so I will shortly be buying a larger SSD and I thought now would be a good time to move to a Gaming specific distro. I currently run Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with a native install of the Steam client and Proton GE installed to make use of FSR by adding the relevant command parameters into the launch options for each game into the Steam client. My question is, how is FSR implemented in Bazzite and what is standard practice for enabling FSR in Steam games? Is it the same as what I am doing in Ubuntu with Proton GE? or is it more elegant than that by, for example, simply pressing the PS button and X to bring up a performance overlay? Does Bazzite use Gamescope or Proton GE by default to manage FSR? (Do any of these elements need to be installed or are they already installed within the distro?) Thanks very much for any guidance on this.

handled by gamescope (FSR1) for newer FSR the game has to implement it and it also works

yeah and if you use bazzite desktop you enable it by running games within gamescope using launch options (some thing like gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -F fsr -- %command% where 1920 1080 is the input resolution and 2560 1440 is the output resolution it scales up to.) inside gamemode its automatic and the same way as on the steam deck using the QAM menu (PS+X etc)

Thank you very much for the gamescope config details. Very useful and I will definitely be giving bazzite a go when I get my new ssd.
