To manually turn off mods, delete the FactoryGame/Mods folder from your game install directory manually. Here's how to find the game install directory: https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_GameInstall - Even after you do this, SMM still won't work, and you will still get the "folder that does not exist" error message! You have to launch the game from Epic/Steam for now. Close SMM and don't use it again until we announce that mods are updated. - If you have issues launching the game after this, also delete the FactoryGame/Plugins folder, then verify your game files to restore it: https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#_how_do_i_verify_my_game_files - If you're still having issues, post the next error you get! -# Responding to smm1.0 triggered by @wadyswaw

I've noticed, so do you think it has nothing to do with the crash on launch tho?
Borketh

what crash are you having?

I launch Satisfactory, get the title splash screen, and it crashes that's when I remembered I had SMM installed, and probably never turned mods off before uninstalling Satisfactory a year ago so, tried to launch it, and got this error message, bringing me here

where else might SMM have stuck something that's interfering with my attempt at a vanilla 1.0 run? OK, the answer is SMM (probably) stuck nothing else anywhere. My issue was I need to run the game with DirectX 11 still (my poor elderly GPU), so I had to add -dx11 to my Launch Options in the General tab of Properties for the game in Steam. Hope that helps someone else, and sorry & thanks to @Borketh (borking) for trying to help me. 🙂
