Bazzite on Steam Deck can't change user account

My wife has been playing Stardew Valley on my steam account recently and I've realized that I can't play games via the Steam account on my desktop PC while she's using the deck.
I created a new account for her and turned on family sharing as a workaround. It was difficult to get the account working on the steam deck as I had numerous crashes but eventually got through it. It worked for about 1 day but now hard locks often when I try going to/from desktop and locks every time when changing user accounts in game mode. Hard rebooting brings me back into the SteamOS game mode on my account exclusively so I'm unable to switch to hers. I'm not super familiar with Linux and not terribly sure where to start, hopefully someone has some pointers!

basically valve kinda hardcoded uid 1000 or something similar
If I'm understanding, your thought is that even switching back to SteamOS would pose the same issue?

btw one workaround for that is to use steam offline mode, only work for offline game tho

so I had a fully setup and working bazzite-gnome using my own account from setup till now, I used the "change account" button in my user profile page in game mode to log out, and log in via her account
It wasn't as simple as that, as it locked up once or twice in the process, and I had to hop back and forth to enable family sharing etc, but I got it to work. A little over a day later it no longer works to log out and change account in game mode
does this work normal in desktop?
I haven't tried yet today
but it's a good question. I'm certain I've done it once or twice when setting her account up but not today
better try it first and report back, if you do face crash you can get the logs using either
ujust logs-this-boot if you can get to terminal without restarting or ujust logs-last-boot if you need to restart after crash. typing that in the terminal will give you a link that you can send hereOk I will do this

most likely youre using the current steam families which borrows the whole library then a family member borrows a single game.
you need to be in the steam families beta (which is in the steam beta client, which often breaks decky and its plugins if you use them) to only borrow a single game from the library
not sure about the other issue though
So home and testing again with no issues switching accounts in the desktop mode steam app, or interestingly the game mode
but it looks like my steam updated as decky loader is missing though most (or all?) of my plugins are working (themes/artwork still applied, but sdgboop is not present)
Other notes
1. Steam big picture on startup is toggling itself on in desktop mode. I disabled it, restarted, and it was back
2. All compat mode settings (ie; games set to run in proton experimental, steam linux runtime, etc) appear to have defaulted back to unchecked force compat mode. Not a huge deal but odd that it's done this
3. Steam is not in beta channel
4. Decky loader installer not running, fails to execute the .desktop file

I've had no issues swapping accounts though! So at least that is a non-issue now!

can confirm, with everything seeming to work ok (except for decky) I just tried loading space marine 2 on my PC while stardew was running on my wife's account on the deck and it prompted her with a 5 minute time-out warning
after going into family management page on stable release I was able to add her to my family and now it works seamlessly
so I thank y'all for the assistance, I can live without decky working as it has maintained my themes and such
np, the decky thing is probably broke after the new steam update, you can wait for few days and try it again
the decky v3 is released an hour ago lol, you could try to install it again
