SMM: 2.9.3

) 1.0 has renamed the game target, preventing SMM from being able to automatically uninstall mods. To remove mods, delete the mod folder manually as described here: https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_ModsAh ok, thanks
Can I back up the list of installed mods somehow before deleting them?
The mods list is safe, this just removes the mods from the game dir
Don't delete them and just move the folder out of the Satisfactory folder, like to your desktop.
gotcha - cos I run the AppImage on linux, none of the paths really match anything in the FAQ...
but I can find the Mods directory
fwiw - if you're trying to find that directory on linux, it'll be something like:
<Steam Directory Location>/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Satisfactory/FactoryGame/Mods/
Tried doing the fix described above, launching from Steam says its missing the executable now.
Close steam and open it again. Not a problem with mods.
Thank you
what do i do.. so confused
hi how can i fix this?

This is kind of a silly problem to have in the first place
disabling the option to disable mods when the game dir is not properly found and stuff

Go to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Satisfactory\FactoryGame and delete mods folder.
This should remove all the loaded mods.
yeah but why lock people out of doing it through the app
what a weird feature
Think about what you're saying for a moment..... If it can't figure out the install directory, how can it do anything to mods it doesn't know where they are?
thank you :D
deleting mods folder doesnt work i still get "failed to load plugin xxx" errors
yessss thank you!!!
Give us the ability to reselect the directory instead of bricking the entire app.
or at the very least look for mods inside the current working dir
I mean, github is there - submit a PR - or just wait.
Here's a brief rundown of what worked for me, I hope this helps you out:
I found that there are actually two separate Mod Folders. One is in Satisfactory's Game directory, which I don't know if you're running epic but for Steam, @•♬•♫• Azura •♫•♬• just posted the correct file directory.
As for the other, as far as I can tell it's just a download cache, but I went ahead and deleted it just to be safe. it's found at "%LOCALAPPDATA%/SatisfactoryModManager/downloadCache/mods"
All I did was to rename the Mods directory, and it all started working again.
am not tech savy and dont read well either
still doesnt work
FWIW mods don't work at all in the first place, and that will be patched when mods are fixed, going into the filesystem and doing it manually is better tbh
Plus the game is at 1.0 so it's done with updates for a while
And nothing in the file structure (names of folders and stuff) should change in the future
im here, where do i have to click?
FactoryGame
Then delete
mods
folder @Duende_Travieso👌
that doesn't work
I don't see why it shouldn't
ok thx
but i delete the folder or the inside of the folder leaving the folder empty?
delete the
mods
folder...
the whole folder inside of the factorygame
folderIf it still has issues with
mods
removed, remove plugins
as well, then verify game files through Steam or Epicbut if I do that i couldnt add more mods in the future no?
yes, you can, that's what the mod manager does...
SMM will restore it when it's fixed.
once mods are working again
ahhh... thank you so much!! you reallly fics it...
its a bad joke you dont have to laught if you dont want...
:ficsitlikedthat2:
hey
Hmm?
now the SF goes well but this continues...

Don't use SMM to launch the game now.
it fix it himself?
And the game's exe was renamed, so SMM is looking for an install that "doesn't" exist.
Just keep the mods folder deleted, and launch the game from epic or steam.
(You wont be able to play with mods tho (Obviously))
there are 2 mods folders:
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Satisfactory\mods
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Satisfactory\FactoryGame\mods
There should only be one, and that one in factory game
and delete plugins if that didnt work
SMM is entirely broken y'all, just don't use it until it's fixed
It can't launch the game either
i can't play even without it
Error screenshot?
you have to
uh
i CAN't
hm
not that i don't want to
I know-
launched the game from steam

not verifying, only reinstalling the missing files
because i deleted the plugin folder
same here now
Iv got the same problem is working now.
1. Backup your save
2. Manually remove folder with mods in game directory
3. Restart Steam
4. Enjoy 😍
( No mods in save game will remove them completely -- leaving blank space)
how do I turn off mods, the ERROR message saying mods can't be used doesn't allow me to turn them off

the plugin folder is 8gb so it will take a while to reinstall
what
Mods I meant
i dont understand right here
yeah
Yeah, it usually combines base game and mod plugins all in the same folder but it causes issues if SMM can't see anything
but they have to update the launcher

works
Guys don't panic, just read help page -- lilly-- just add link
@xXdrewbaccaXx -> #announcementsmy 8 update's inventory have dissapeared how can i fix it?
Iv nearly have heart attack on first start. But I will be long night 💤💤:launch:
i reinstalled the game and i have the SML problem
Renaming likely works because of SF's baked-in mod support, it specifically looks for a folder named
mods
The launcher just automates the process, and the game handles mod loading itselfi already delete all the files...but nothing same prob with sml
Plugin 'SML' failed to load because module 'SML' could not be found. Please ensure the plugin is properly installed, otherwise consider disabling the plugin for this project.

Right click the game in Steam, hit Manage, Browse Local Files, then type SML in the search box
then ??
delete it!
❤️ works !!!
I'm getting the same:
2 Satisfactory installs were found, but all of them point to folders that don't exist.
"G:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Satisfactory"
"g:\games\steam\steamapps\common\Satisfactory"
Case sensitivity notwithstanding, it most definitely exists.

Yeah you just need to "delete" the mods folder(just move it out of the folder), and launch from steam or epic normally. SMM is the issue
