ROG Ally X unable to install Dual Boot on same drive

So I had a search around Google and here and found very little except for a guy with a corrupted ISO. I've spent the last hour or two trying to figure this out but I'm trying to follow the guide here: https://universal-blue.discourse.group/t/dual-boot-preliminary-setup-and-post-setup-guide/2743 using method B, now the part I'm getting stuck at is setting the partitions, for some reason it just will not create an EFI partition whatsoever and just keeps erroring out when trying to do so, I was wondering if anyone else had come across this and if anyone could get me on my way?

you don't need it off, just the key enrolled install will succeed regardless of that

First did you shrink your Windows drive while you were in Windows to make space for Bazzite? Could you please post the error message or provide a screenshot of the error you are getting when you try and create an EFI partition?

Hi there, so yeah I did shrink the partition inside of windows to make space and then just tried to follow the steps from there, the error message I was getting was "Unable to Allocate Partition Type" when trying to create an EFI partition. However I ended up getting it working by booting into a live Linux distro and using gparted to create a FAT32 partition of 300MB, an ext4 partition of 1GB and then leaving the rest as a btrfs partition, then it was pefectly happy to format these partitions in the installer, it just didn't seem to like creating them on the empty space, strange but I'll take it and I'm up and running now

Interesting solution. But glad that you came right

Someone else previously did this too on their GPD device for to get Bazzite running Interesting to get confirmation that it works

Yeah no idea why it didn't like making an EFI partition in empty space, wonder if there's something amiss with Blivet-GUI at all as the error was coming from a traceback in there Just as a heads up on this one I just installed it on my desktop and had the same issue with Blivet on a shrunken partition on that machine as well
