crash to black screen then full system reboot
Hey there I’m not exactly sure what to share and am willing to share what is needed. Below is the rundown of what I am experiencing
Running full amd cpu and gpu setup
7600x and 7800xt
Been trying to play diablo 4 but every time I launch into a lobby the screen goes black and eventually the whole system reboots
This is in game mode running the htpc and handheld version of bazzite. Version numbers from system info below:

If you launch to the desktop mode and launch the game do you experience the same issue?
Yes
I had the same problem with spiderman miles morales, however launching the game with desktop mode had no such issue

This is with a htpc or desktop I am experiencing this on both my computers
One system is an intel and amd and this one is with an amd and amd
The intel platform has 32GB of ram (tridentz) and the other one has 64GB of crucial pro
So turned on mango hud and I don’t think there is a memory leak (I was thinking this had the same behavior that I was seeing with cyberpunk with nvidia drivers a couple years ago with dx12 games) but my ram wasn’t being overutilized anywhere.
Temps were also nominal not getting above 60C
That’s for the cpu and gpu
Gpu ram before the crash topped out at 12/16 and regular ram topped out at 10/64
After the machine has rebooted can you see anything useful in the logs by running
journalctl -n 1000? Maybe something is causing a kernal panic
Also have you tried a different version of Proton like GE-Proton?
Might be worth trying some of the suggestions in https://www.protondb.com/app/2344520/Yeah the proton db options are what I tried initially before posting. Primarily the -adapter and the vkd3d_config
I just tried again to get a clean crash with a timestamp so I can review the journalctl will post here in a second with any logs
I was seeing some authentication error but wasn’t sure if those were from the crash or something
Oh duh once the system restarts I can’t get older logs
So right before it crashes it will go to a black screen and I can’t do any input. No tty, no cursor visible nothing. Then eventually the system will reboot
This is with other games too. I tried with ghost of Tsushima and it’s doing it with cyberpunk as well
And to answer your question regarding proton versions I have tried proton 9, experimental and ge’s 9-12 and 13

I think this is related to the kernel
we are on 6.9.12, even says so in your image
but yes, just use an older image overall that has an older kernel
I thought it was a rollback to 6.9 due to legion issues
there is no "i just want to roll back the kernel" here, whole system is provided as 1 image
yeah 6.10 is a buggy mess for handhelds so we rolled it back to 6.9
we were on 6.10 for maybe 1 day
