Im kind of giving up right now and taking a break. I've resoldered and led and oled screen but its not changing anything. What im experiencing is that im using an oled thats i2c. The rotary encoder sometimes work and sometimes doesnt. When it does work, the led is off. When its not working, the led is dimly lit. Ill try to resolder again in a few days or i might just learn how QMK code works so i cant maybe understand the files and code and troubleshoot it from there. i used a multimeter to check if theres a connection and it all seems to be connected. you’re free to ping Jay to see if he knows what my issue is @jaygreco Hi Jay, any advice on what i should do?

I see you're using a Pro Micro - sometimes those can't drive the OLED when the big LED is connected. I would recommend not using the big LED if you want to use the OLED. I would also make sure that the wires you soldered between your OLED and the header pins are in the correct order. The rotary encoder doesn't have any common circuitry with the OLED or big LED, so if it isn't working when one of the others is, that's a sign that things are probably not connected together right. It sounds like you've tried resoldering so I'm not sure what it would be.

It turns rgb on and off just fine. It just doesnt change the volume when i rotate consistently. i haven’t done any firmware tinkering on it so it might be a configuration issue on my end? also is getting a different MCU (Bit Pro C or alternative) a possible fix perhaps?

It could be, but do know that desoldering the MCU without damaging the board underneath is very difficult. I don’t typically recommend trying it unless you’re okay with that possibility.

Okay, ill try desoldering the Big Led and see if it fixes it Do you think resoldering the knob is necessary given turning rgb on and off works

The press uses different pins than the spin So it’s possible some are soldered well and some aren’t.

New problem, now the whole bottom row and the singular esc key isnt detected on a keyboard tester is the big rgb led common anode or cathode?
