Fatal Error during install - image deploy
Attached an image of the full error.
I tried installing it on a Steam Deck Oled. Redownloaded the image and same. Not really sure where to go from here.

I've never seen a "code -7" before in that error message. Have you tried a different USB drive? A different tool for writing the ISO to USB? Also when the ISO is finished writing make sure that you eject the USB safely.
Something else to check would be the checksum of the ISO file, I've had a partially downloaded ISO on a number of occasions even with a good internet speed. You can check the checksum with the one on the Website using 7zip on Windows.
yeah google is also very quiet about code -7, thats why I came here, checksum seems okay, but I can try a different usb drive
The tool used for creating the bootable USB can also give different results in an install. Ventoy has always worked well for me
yeah I'm using ventoy
Ok then go with the different USB and lets see what happens
Also have a look at the docs https://ublue-os.github.io/bazzite/General/Installation_Guide/Installing_Bazzite_for_Steam_Deck/#installation-guide, it might be worth trying Basic Graphics mode.... though I doubt that would give you an error code.
Installing Bazzite on the Steam Deck - Bazzite Documentation
Bazzite is a custom image built upon Fedora Atomic Desktops that brings the best of Linux gaming to all of your devices - including your favorite handheld.
oh i missed that completely
in my defence, warnings should probably be highlighted more and not less than regular text
That's a good point warnings should probably be orange or red on the side π
well in basic graphics mode I just have a black screen now π
My memory is that ventoy-burnt images do not need basic graphics mode
cant quickly find another usb drive, will try tomorrow again. will update here if anything changes
Cool. Good luck π
ok remade the usb and also didnt touch anything in the installer, like the user or language and looks like its installing fine
Good luck. Holding thumbs
okay it installed and looked good until I rebooted and tried to do the steam setup thingy, where nothing reacted, no inputs or the whole thing just crashed. will go back to normal steam os for now, need that thing for a trip tomorrow π
That's very odd, you can't really go wrong with SteamOS and at least it's not Windows 11 :). Enjoy your trip
I have the same, except with -1.
I'll try to write iso on a new usb stick, see if that will help. π
