imo several things go well - denim, cargos/fatigues/chinos, ripstop or nylon pants (needles bdu, etc.)
for denim light or mid wash, ecru, black, and for everything else black, olive, beige, off-white. mainly it's a matter of personal preference
even slacks/trousers would work
this is just a polo
How it fits on you and the shape of and fit of the pants will dictate whether it looks good or not

yes - the specific shade of blue will vary but as kyn said its basically a polo shirt (or rugby shirt)
and yes, caramel is probably fine in abstract as are all the other options, but a picture of the pants (if you own them) or trying pants on with the shirt is the best way to tell
Straight or wide but any would probably work depending on how you style it
