Significantly alter or pass?

Post on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/1f8otca/would_you_spare_the_effort_to_let_this_jacket_be/ I'm willing to let the jacket be experimented on, and if it turns out to be a mess, accept it's fate. Dig the sack-y appearance. What say you to: taking in the shoulders a bit, correct sleeve pitch, let out front darts so the pattern matches, take in the back a bit and sew in a proper buttonhole? Sorry if some of the angles are weird, was supposed to be a video.

All that's likely going to cost you more than the jacket is worth and more than it will cost to buy something that works better.

Ah well, I still feel like pulling the trigger as I've thrifted this one so upfront costs weren't massive to begin with... but that's good advice still. Thanks!*

i suspect some of that "sacky" appearance would go away when altering the shoulders or sleeve pitch unless you're planning to also remove the shoulder pads, which may affect what else you choose to do with it speaking only where i'm located the kind of stuff you're describing is expensive (unless you're doing it yourself) and may not guarantee the intended effect if you're doing it yourself or you're committed to the look of the jacket fine, but if you don't want to let it go because it's a bargain, consider that a jacket with better measurements (especially on ebay) will still probably be cheaper

Again, saintly advice. I've decided that I will sit on this one for a while and see where I go with it afterwards. Thank you everyone.
