Lanthanoids and Actinoids

Guys i have a doubt, Is lanthanum and actinium the first member of Lanthanoids and actinoids respectively? Somewhere its written it is while somewhere its written that its not.

it isn't in many periodic tables but our sir said that they are both d block elements, they just show the properties of f block elements so they are studied with them

It's not. Lanthanum and actinium are d-block elements. Lanthanoids begin from Cerium and actinoids from Thorium. But they all belong to the third group as far as the main body of the table is concerned. Because of d1
