Joystick not working as mouse (desktop mode)

I just installed bazzite os and after setting both the os and gaming mode, I couldnt use my joystick as a mouse in desktop mode again. Device: ROG Ally X

hold the rog button until it vibrates

fixed it by selecting desktop layout inside armoury crate
