old surface devices are really good build quality.
unless you're looking for gaming laptop
could get a 10 series mobile
I doubt I’d be able to get anything that could compete with my steam deck in that price range
Have you got a specific recommendation?
Wait aren’t the surface laptops arm based
surface laptop 1-6 is not arm based
i think you can get used thinkpad from 2018-2021 with really good price
kinda want a thinkpad
I picked up a surface book 2 for ~$300 quids for my pops to use has a 10 series mobile GTX
used
actually debated picking one up for myself after lol
In the first generation of surface devices, there was regular surface (Intel) and Surface RT (ARM/Nvidia tegra). RT ended up dying almost immediately, and not until this year was there another ARM version. This year, there's the surface copilot thing (don't know the name), but it should be pretty obvious when you're researching that it's snapdragon and not amd/intel.
I'd advice against older thinkpad's for one particular reason: they have some lock in bios that only allows certain wifi cards to work.. So upgrading is impossible. They also were really late to join the 5GHz WiFi party.. I got bit by that one.
thanks!
thank you
