Is performance in some games worse than steam os?
On my Oled, installed using normal installer mode as someone else recommended. In Lies of P, I rerun the same route over and over and notice almost a 10fps decrease compared to steam os. Also noticed more drops in the benchmark for Forza 5. Is this to be expected and should I just wait for more updates ?

Not expected, Forza Horizon 5 is the same for me on my OLED.
I've noticed this during some play tests.
The Last Remnant seemed to have run slightly worse on the same TDP limits when compared to me playing on my Steam Deck OLED
Might not be the best video but top is the Ally X
Bottom is the Steam Deck OLED
Both running at a TDP limit of 11w
Both have the exact same settings and resolution
But the Ally X has large drops into the 40’s during the cutscenes while the OLED stays at a 60 consistent
need level 4 performance graph turned on on both handhelds
and settings/resolution games are running at
Will do
Both will be using same settings but i'll screenshot them

hmm, your frametime is all over the place and neither the CPU nor GPU are maxed out
so it's not a hardware bottleneck -- what are your settings in QAM?
OLED QAM
my guess is your TDP limit
you cannot expect 1:1 performance between the deck and ally X at the same TDP
especially under 15W
also explains why the frames are dropping despite not being maxed out

Although I’m guessing it’s bc it’s the power governor set to performance when compared to battery
Ah right, shucks
Guessing its probably due to the SD's chip being more efficient at those low watts
