val freezes my pc
hihi, so this has been an ongoing issue for months where running valorant would just end up freezing my pc. no BSODS or anything, it would just freeze and the audio would continue to loop. now, for ages ive gone around looking for solutions, and nothing seems to be doing the trick. could anyone give me some insight or any advice? i do not believe it is a hardware issue as a) its never a BSOD b) it only happens on val c) ive done hardware checks (except for my ram) just in case, and it seemed fine. ive tried reinstalling and stuff, please any help is useful.

its genuinely frustrating and im unsure what to do
anyone? 🙏
thats what my next step was, to take a break from val to see if the crashes persist
so far though ive only ever experienced it in val with an exception of 2 times i believe
alright thank you! ill be back here in a week or so, should be ample amount of time
there was 1 time where i crashed on minecraft, and the other time it crashed just minutes after a previous crash

already tried multiple things before
yeah for sure so im quite unsure 😭😭
i reckon it could be faulty ram or a psu issue but im unsure if its a hardware problem ayp
atp
ah damn what would that do exactly
it is a laptop that could be another issue with heating and whatnot
yeah
i believe so but the closest MSi centre to me is like a city away
MSI Raiders GE68HX
alright then
ill just wait a while to see if it was a val or hardware issue
because the 2 instances of crashes outside of val was ages ago
this laptop shouldnt be faulty either imo its like 8 months old 😭
yeah ofc but i expected it to happen quite later
ah damn okau
yeah ill update back here in a week or so if thats okay?
just to see if it is my hardware or val causing the problem
ill make a new one nd ping you if thats fine?
thank you
right something to note is that these crashes are never consistent, it can happen within minutes of playing val to hours of playing val. additionally these crashes are never BSODS, they just freeze my screen and the audio starts glitching/looping and i need to perform a reset using yhe power button. done stress tests using OCCT and my cpu works fine, memory was able to widthstand for 20 mins but i might try a longer test if you think that would help
it might just be val because val is the most cpu intensive game i play because tbf outside of val ive only rly played roblox or genshin 😭🙏
its just annoying because its been ongoing for 4 months now and for some reason i never thought to come earlier
honestly this has been ongoing since i swapped from using my iGPU to my main GPU
would that mean anything @Xavierlol
U can try disabling hardware accelerated gpu scheduling
already tried that
doesnt work sadly
Do u have fast startup enabled in power settings?
the frrze doesnt happen upon tab out or anything it just randomly happens
i dont think so no i disabled it quite a while ago
U sure?
Double check please.
yep but ill chrck again once i can get on my lapyop
sorry currently cant give any live ingo
assuming it is disabled what else could i do?
not exactly, it just randomly freezes my screen, audio starts glitching and i need to hard reset to solve it
the performence tho 💔 ill try staying off val for a bit first though and focus on other games to see if it persists
then ill try swapping back
im still unsure if its hardware because its only val so far
but then again val is the most cpu intensive game i have
im sure it isnt my gpu if anything
im able to run gpu intensive games like genshin without facing similar issues
how come its only val then
you reckon i should get professional support?
would that wipe my data and sucg?
sorry ive never done one and still quite new to the laptop
thats quite weird
but ill look into it
do you want me to do a full windows reinstallation or what? including files etc.
or can i keep my app files, data etc.
because i believe thats an option now to reinstall windows without losing anything
is there not a way in th4 r3covety options tho?
do you reckon any overlays or background apps could be the cause?
hey, offtopic but could a macro like x mouse button control cause these crashing issues?
i have it set up for mb5 and it enables an autoclicker
perhaps nahimic as well?
oh fair
thats unfortunate
im just going to contact actual msi support and stay of val for the mean time
not even audio drivers? or any softwares?
ah yeah fair
but im not sure if i can do it 1 by 1
alright
thank you
ill try my graphics first
and then if that doesnt work ill do a windows reinstall
i tried to reinstall drivers and ddu fucked up so i had to reinstall windows i think lol
hope this works
i wasnt qble to use a usb tho because i didnt expect it to reset my pc
