Setting TDP Limit to 13/17/25 uses TDP Profiles instead of Custom
Hey team, just noticed something interesting when using the TDP Limit slider.
When you set the limits to 13/17/25 respectively, Handheld Daemon switches these to the default profiles instead of sticking to the custom profile.
I would've expected it to keep the Custom profile but set the limit to 13/17/25. (As the default profiles seem to pull a bit more power past the limits)

This is for the ROG Ally X
Vid for reference
I'm still thinking about this
Just know that the stock power profiles even if they use a bit more in the beginning
Have more stable behavior
And are broadly equivalent to using custom with CPU boost on
Ah I see
Yeah i'm not the biggest fan of how the stock profiles have that tdp boost applied (I prefer CPU Boost and tdp boost off)
But no worries, will keep this in mind π€
Thanks again for the input as always π
yeah i had the same problem, rn i just set it to 12/18/24 depending on the games
sorry for upping this but is there a fix for this it's not there yet?
i said im thinking about it not that i would change it
however
will probably be fixed in a couple weeks once i redo the tdp logic
to fix the little bugs that cause the tdp to get stuck after suspend
appreciate the response
Solution
