No audio from Valorant at all, but can hear everything else.

NOTE: this is my cousins issue, not mine, but I have been trying to help her fix it. Recently she updated her Realtek Audio Drivers, and she played two swiftplays after restarting her pc, audio was perfectly fine. Got on today and said her audio was very laggy/distorted then suddenly just stopped. Can hear everything else just fine (discord, spotify, youtube, other games, etc.). We've tried updating the specific output for Valorant in the windows settings, making sure no other surround sound things were enabled, tried having HRTF on and off, completely reinstalled Valorant and Vanguard. She has a Razer Kraken 7.1, it plugs in through two aux ports not usb. Cant hear voice chat either. Checked volume mixer already and nothing is muted, Valorant even pops up under the right device but of course no activity can be seen. Should note that the two swiftplays where it worked fine, were before this latest patch came out. Starting a ticket on riot games support rn as well.

Have you checked for drivers in Razer Synapse? I had the same headset a few years ago and had a similar issue where the realtek drivers I installed weren't fully compatible with the current version of Razer's routing which caused audio to be fuzzy but after updating my drivers through Synapse it reverted to normal

Yeah when she wakes up tomorrow I'll tell her to download synapse She's had it installed. Nothing we can do there that changes anything for her headset unfortunately. Tried a whole different headset that wasnt razer and didnt work either In volume mixer valorant appears under the right output device but it doesnt show any of the green as if its literally not outputting anything to begin with So somewhat figured it out, I think the soundcard is bugged and any games that produce surround sound mess with it. When she plugs in the headset, the asus supreme fx pops up and she selects that it's headphones but then it switches to being speakers for whatever weird reason. Anyways, ended up just randomly making the decision to tell her to make it 7.1 instead of stereo for the "speaker" configuration and now she can hear. Very weird, def getting a headset with a usb type a connector asap.

very unfortunate, sorry for not following up lol. You can always try updating the soundcard manually by reinstalling the drivers for it
