stabby pins
I'm looking at vintage pins and coming across a lot with this design. How is this meant to be worn? Is the pointy end just hanging out?

Ya I think they're lapel pins, so they go through twice and the pointy end just sits flat

I see more nowadays with a lil bobbin thing on the end, you might be able to buy a pack of the end protector things?

Beautiful thank you! Exactly what I was looking for
Most lapels are two layers of fabric so you could stick the pointy end through the back layer without it poking out the front.
I have a couple like this and i usually just slip them in a button hole
the boutonneire of the corsage for my wedding was in this configuration and i left the pointed end hang; you could run it through the lapel once more if you're worried about being stabbed
