Creating a HMI for your industrial processes, i will say you should use a GUI (graphics user interface), I will recommend QT for light weight application that is dedicated in for embedded devices. You can add menu, bottons and other interactive elements in the user interface for control and data visualization. For the Buttons it can be connected to the beaglebone gpio pin and configured to generate responses based on the required action. If any other thing needed let me know
Yes,we develop a GUI interface
Information given by him helpful for considering and comparing specs with my selection criteria. But im still looking for LCD display
What are the display requirements?
My requirements are:
- 7" Inch
- HDMI / SPI / I2C interface
- Compatible for beaglebone or any single board computer
- Non Touch
- Industrial Standard, Certified, Rugged one
- Operating temperature -40° to + 85° C
- Good for oil and gas industry
- work continuously 24/7
- IT should be like module with metal frame , so I can fit in my own casing
- 800 to 1000 cds brightness
- Cost around $150

Could you please share any documentation or link for QT application to build HMI for Beaglebone
Do you need one display or is this for a commercial deployment at volume (or will it be)?
This will be commercial deployment at 1000. I have already designed Metal casing for the system. This display going to be placed in that metal casing.
Is $150 your per unit cost at volume?
Yes
Have you contacted any of the Taiwanese OEM/ODMs display suppliers?
If not, any reason why
Nope I didn't
I don't feel they doing industrial grade
Some do. Give me a day.
Sure thanks for your help
