virtual display

Anyone knows how to add a virtual display to bazzite handheld? HDMI and do dummy’s are a bit shaky Something like this https://kevintyk.com/2024/02/12/using-sunshine-without-hdmi-dummy-plug/

One of the issues is I can’t get an ultrawide resolution from the dummy in Linux. It works in windows. I am actually fine with 1080p though 4K would be awesome

a dummy plug is the best supported option also what that blog does not mention is that the driver they mention (in windows) add a bunch of latency and overhead also i dont think sunshine likes virtual wayland displays, not sure how to make one but from what i can see sunshine just refuses to use them based on the simple web search of "wayland virtual display"

Sunshine works just fine with virtual displays. Read up on Sway it can do everything the OP wants You can force anything to i.e do ultrawide by creating an ultrawide output line on a secondary workspace then creating a rule to force fullscreen it on that display then move it to the real workspace output For sunshine - it's easiest to use a container with the virtual display for capture. Sunshine will only capture from a single output, if you want to have sunshine do your virtual output and your main display you have to run two instances
