GPD Win4 game mode portrait orientation.
Hello. I am in possession of a GPD Win4 (6800u) that is not your normal retail unit and I’ve been having my screen being rotated in a portrait orientation when in game mode.
It shows up in landscape orientation in desktop mode though.
For certain reasons, I am not able to update to the latest bios.
I did speak to @antheas and it was noted that product_name field came up empty.
Had also tried to include an orientation.conf file under antheas’s guidance but does still does not change gaming modes orientation to landscape.
Was hoping if someone could help further on this. Many thanks!

empty dmi, good change gamescope-session breaks because of it and sets random args @Kyle Gospo
display is "landscape like"
but have not verified that its landscape
echo "ORIENTATION=left" > ~/.config/environment.d/orientation.conf did not workDon't you need a karg? Something like:
sudo rpm-ostree kargs --append-if-missing video=eDP-1:panel_orientation=left_side_up

Tried Karg argument out, didnt work. The orientation of the spinning wheel icon went to the right side of the screen but game mode remained in portrait orientation. Desktop still in landscape.
Did you try other orientations besides left_side_up?
Not really though. Will try that later today.
you'd probably need to remove the karg that you added, before re-adding any updated kargs
rpm-ostree kargs --delete-if-present=video=eDP-1:panel_orientation=left_side_upNoted on that. Yeah I’ve already deleted it
Tried other orientation, did not work. The spinning wheel changes place in accordance to the orientation together with the bazzite logo in splash screen but once it goes to gaming mode it’s back to portrait orientation.
fixed it with EC flash.
