Menus stop working in Game Mode after starting game
hi! i’ve been really enjoying using bazzite on my home theatre setup (ryzen 3 1200, rx 570, 8 gb of ram) for some less demanding titles lol. i did a fresh install last night, and i’m on the steam client beta so i can access my steam family library. i’ve been having an issue that’s been making it borderline unusable though! after starting any game in game mode, i can’t open the steam or quick access menu. and after closing a game from within its own menu, controls do not work in the steam interface. this is the case on both a steam controller and a wired xbox 360 controller.
also, my steam controller won’t connect via bluetooth until i open the settings menu and open the bluetooth tab. i don’t have to click “connect” on the controller, it just connects itself shortly after opening the page.
are these known bugs? are they fixable via any tinkering on my end? any input is appreciated :)

did you previously have bazzite installed, and everything worked ok?
if so, one thing you can try is rolling back and figuring out which bazzite OS update introduced the bug.
and if you do figure out the OS update that introduced the issue, please report it so that it can be investigated
Manual rollback instructions:
bazzite-rollback-helper list will list available bazzite images.
bazzite-rollback-helper rebase image_goes_name_here
for to rollback, you can use a version from the prior list command. Note, due to a recent issue, currently only images from around 07/02 and later will currently work
an example of a rollback would be:
bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 40-stable-20240722
note that rebasing to an image will lock you to that OS image, you will no longer get regular OS updates.
To get back to regular OS updates later after there's bugfixes, run:
bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stableSteam controller is a known issue, it's broken upstream in bluez
not sure when that'll be fixed
xbox controller should be working, maybe try switching to stable steam
see if your behavior changes
and I would do that before trying to rebase
the bluetooth not working immediately has always been a thing since i installed bazzite the other day, i installed a steam beta update update though and now the menus seem to be fixed.
could the bluetooth be because i’m using my motherboard’s integrated bluetooth antenna?
