so currently im playing a 18inch monitor and 84hz and i wanna buy a 144hz laptop with like 15inches to 17inches is that gonna be a disadvantage?

I just noticed you're not going down in that much size so honestly the laptop display alone will be fine

whats the graphics card on ur current set up and the laptop @ILOVEMINECRAFT
right now i got the gtx 1650 on my desktop and the laptop im getting is like the rtx 3060
storage?
@ILOVEMINECRAFT
well right now i have 100ssd and 1tb hdd
and the laptop im getting is 500gb ssd
oki not bad
but like does the monitor size matters
The laptop def feels like an upgrade
the grpahics is defo better
the laptop is better then ur current setup
Depends on how your eyesight is
yeah but my currect setup right now is fine on valorant
If you play a lot, it's gonna hurt your eyes, but also if you play a lot, you're better off getting a desktop
it's like i get 90 fps so it's fine
it's like a need a laptop for college
and im going to move away
so i cant upgrade my desktop anymore
i would say the only dow sife to laptop is monitor size
and is that a big problem?
or it's like fine
Gamer laptop using cs major? 👌
because even my monitor now is like 720p
not even 1080p
Are you using it for class?
but it's like 18 inches
its not bad
for class and gaming
its just smaller
Yeah 1080p is worth the 3 inches
It might turn on like a Jett engine in class but that's normal if you're a cs freshman
haha
oh really?
that's kinda bad
i doubt it be that bad
i wont play in class though haha
It's a gaming laptop, they are loud
even if im on like the desktop?
To boot up it's puts the fans on full blast at first
It won't be the whole time
ohhh ok
okay so in the end
It's not bad, I'm more just making a joke because it's a stereotype
the laptop is still fine
even if
Yeah the upgrade sounds nice
the laptop monitor is gonna be a bit smaller
If you're carrying it around, smaller is better
yeah
Just don't game too much cuz you'll get worse eye strain
its a good upgrade
But you should be studying anyway
true
i just want it to be perfect for anything
idk
So first of all
90 fps with a gtx 1650 is horrendous, get that checked
it's my cpu
it's bad
And no, the 2 inch will not make a difference when u r upgrading to 144 hz, i would rather have a smaller screen with higher refresh rate than a bigger monitor with low refresh rate
Also going from something like 80hz to 144 feels soo much better
that's nice to hear
but im kinda curious what's better 1280x800 resolution on a 18inches monitor or 1920x1080 on a 15-17 inches monitor
(im kinda dumb on these stuff sry)
Definitely 1080p
720 is absolutely trash
1440p on top
trust
also gm
but i dont get it though
isnt 1440p on like a 17inches monitor bad
hmmm
It just means the PPI is more dense
ppi = Pixels per inch
But yes a 17 inch monitor that is 1440p will not have the true benefit of a higher resolution
so the quality would be better?
Yes but when things get smaller it's very hard for eyes to then notice the changes
So that's why I'm really old consoles the Resolution of their displays was horrendous but they still look decent especially for how old they are
And that's because the display Is small
but like 15 - 17 inches is still fine on valorant
To answer the actual question. You can use a hdmi cable to plug your current monitor into the laptop
If you do not want to go down in the actual size of the display
i dont have the laptop right now haha
A) You'll have a dual monitor setup
B) You can play on whatever one you want, If you want the higher refresh rate but the smaller size. Or if you want the bigger display but with that lower refresh rate
Yes I know lol
Solution
I just noticed you're not going down in that much size so honestly the laptop display alone will be fine
yay
My laptop not that loud when play valorant
