QAM not showing for ROG Ally
Hi, I’ve just installed Bazzite as a dual boot on my ROG Ally. However, I’m unable to bring up the Quick Access Menu (the one on the right side for adjusting brightness and volume). I’ve tried pressing all the keys on my ROG Ally, but nothing seems to work. I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has faced a similar issue could help out. Thanks!

If you dual boot, can you boot into windows and back?
If that does not fix it, please run
journalctl -b | fpaste
on the terminal and provide me with the link.@antheas Here you go: https://paste.centos.org/view/3769c674
I’m wondering whether HHD may not start properly so it messed up with the key mapping? Any ideas on how can I check whether HHD running properly? Thanks again for your help here.
Btw, I did try to boot into the windows and back, still same issue, can’t get QAM showing up…
whats your username?
tim-ally
oh god what a bug
it does not like the -
theres a good chance the easiest solution for this is for us to write this down and for you to reinstall using the username

Ok, at least we know what’s the issue. So now question is how to reinstall bazzite…
just how you installed it, just delete the bazzite partitions and follow the dualboot guide beginning at creating the dual boot partitions
otherwise you can wait 1 to 3 days for a fix or try to rename your user
Do I need to boot to windows and delete the bazzite partition first, then just do the reinstallation?
no, you do not need to boot into windows
you can delete the partitions from the installer
exactly before you create the new ones
I see. Ok, I’ll give it a go. Thanks for your help.
i fixed the bug, but you probably do not want to wait for the fix
That’s quick. So it’s going to be released in 2 or 3 days? I actually don’t mind waiting, only planning to play some games this weekend…
If I wait, do I just need to wait for the system update? Anything else needs to be done?
No, just update
Well hopefully it will work, I don't have a user with a dash to exactly test it
No worries. If still not working this weekend. I’ll re-install it. Thank you. Time for bed…
Hi my friend @antheas , just trying to re-install bazzite, now getting some weird error message that I haven’t seen before, any ideas?
The following error occurred while installing the payload. This is a fatal error and installation will be aborted.
The command ‘ostree container image deploy —sysroot=/mnt/sysimage —image=/run/install/repo/bazzite-deck-stable —transport=oci —no-signature—verification’ exited with the code 1.
OK, I’ve just found a fix. Since this is re-installation, I need to remove fedora entry in EFI for system booting. After that, the installer worked as before. Thanks.
