audio inputs defaulting

hello, i tried to use my bluetooth headset on my ROG Ally for voice chats but i can not get my microphone to work. i can see it show up in the audio section and i can select it, however as soon as i leave that section it reverts back to the default (Family 17h/19h HD Audio Controller)… is there any way to fix this as it would be very useful to be able to use my headset

it's by design, valve's audio model intentionally tries to prevent this because your audio quality will drop to 1896 telegraph since you're on a handheld, consider using the mic on the ally and bluetooth for audio out

so it’s more reasonable to just grab my in ear bluetooths rather than my massive gamer headset?😅🤣

if it's bluetooth, yeah any gaming headset worth money should have a dongle, IE: Explicitly not be bluetooth

thank you yeah mine does but the dongle is plugged into my PS5 as that does not take bluetooth headsets at all slightly disappointed with how Valve decided to handle that then. imo it’s better to give us the option to use what device i want to. but hey ho, it’s far from the end of the world
