IPv6 Java Server HELP
I recently switched to Starlink and am hoping for advice on if it's possible to run a Java server on IPv6 using Starlink. I used to run one fine on IPv4 using a Telstra smart modem gen 2 so I have a bit of knowledge but am not quite an expert. Note the Telstra modem has a separate option to portforward IPv6 or IPv4 in the settings and I set it up as shown in the attachment (I just selected TCP/UDP but it also has an ICMPv6 option)
I have a gen 3 Starlink router which is also connected by cable to my Telstra modem which gives me an IPv6 when I connect to it. I was advised to use bypass mode on the Starlink router to portforward using the Telstra modem however when I do this the Telstra modem just says IPv6 disconnected and does not give me one.
It also said I should be able to still portforward without using bypass mode and just connecting to the Telstra modem so I tried that and I was able to start the server and connect to it using [IPv6]:25565 on any device on the same network but I couldn't connect to it when I tried using my hotspot (which does also give an IPv6) with the connection just timing out. Help would be much appreciated as I am not sure what else I can try, if you need any extra info to help let me know and I can provide screenshots etc... thanks

What are the first four numbers/letters the IPv6 address starts with?
And does this tool claim that you have a functional ipv6 connection
https://test-ipv6.com
Test your IPv6.
This will test your browser and connection for IPv6 readiness, as well as show you your current IPv4 and IPv6 address.
yes the tool does & its 2406 which I thought was routable
Yeah that’s correct
I would check firewall settings, both on windows and on the router. As each device on the network has its own IPv6 address, you don’t need to port forward IPv6 like you do on IPv4
no clue if this website works since it seems to say the same thing for every ipv6 i enter but i tried entering mine for 25565 TCP and it said filtered - this port is blocked by firewall or other network obstacle
IPV6 Scanner | Online Port Scan
IPv6 Scanner is a Online Port Scan. Also scans IPv4 ports.
I heard that but then what is the IPv6 forwarding section on my modem for? And do you know what settings I should check - I made sure every java program was allowed through windows firewall and tested turning it off (which didnt work) so I assume if anything its the router but I have no clue how to make that work
There is IPv6 NAT, but it just typically doesn’t make sense to use

those are the only settings under firewall
so essentially i can delete that forwarding rule and other people should be able to access the server just by entering the ipv6 in mc?
In theory, but you’ll just have to make sure there’s no firewall blocking the port on the Tesla stuff, the router or the desktop hosting the server
well theres pretty much no settings on the starlink router apart from custom DNS so I don't think I can do anything about that blocking it
which I assume is why it says to use bypass mode but then it just wont give me an IPv6
Note: minecraft doesn't support ipv6, results may vary
but it works when i connect on the same network?
that's specifically saying mojang doesn't support running minecraft with only an ipv6 address. That post has nothing to do about hosting a minecraft server on ipv6, as netty could literally care less about the game running on IPv6 vs IPv4
