PaperMC Server Hosting Options
Hi everyone! I am looking to expand my understanding of server hosting options. The main question I have is: What resources should I be looking at to learn the pros and cons of different types of server hosting services for MC (i.e. Dedicated vs. Cloud)? Additionally, are there any options that come to anyone's mind right away if they see my specific needs?
For context: I am new to Admincraft (thank you guys for making this forum possible), and I have a bit of experience with running small public Minecraft servers. Most of my hosting experience is with AWS on EC2 Amazon Linux. I realize now that AWS is more of a premium option than I once thought, and I am eager to find options that are more cost-effective. I understand that there are many different kinds of needs for MC server hosting, so I will list what I think are most important for me:
- File management
- Scripts for starting, restarting, backups, etc.
- MySQL database
- Potential to scale hardware if playerbase/demand increases
Apologies if this multi-pronged question isn't really how you're supposed to do it in this section of the server. I'm happy to move my question/post elsewhere if that's the case.

I think I was being a bit silly - I was missing some key words in my knowledge, so using "cloud", "dedicated", "public" "server" and keywords like that in search function is my go-to now lol
