Shearling recommendations?
I've been eyeing Aero's AN-J-4 as I've wanted a shearling for a while now and military style seems like something I could wear in a wide variety of settings, including work. I'm a little worried that the 3/4" shearling on that might be too warm though. I live in Colorado where it gets pretty cold in winter but it's not typically under 0F for long stretches or anything. Also leaning towards something not-black because I already have a couple of black leather jackets.
So any brand or style recommendations are welcome. I'd like to try to keep it under $1500 but that's not a huge budget for one so feel free to make your pitch if you think I should go higher. Also let me know your thoughts on how they should fit.

I think cockpit USA currently owns the contract
freenote usually has non leather shearling options that I think look easier to wear
You could ask Aero if they could use a shorter sheepskin for the jacket production
if you have the money and time to communicate with the owner, you could ask damon or alan at johnson leathers to make you an AN-J-4 clone with your specs
