Anyone been able to get "Alex's Caves Optimized" server running on Linux?

It has been a few years since diving back into Minecraft server hosting and it seems a few things have changed... Skipping the forge --installServer details (correct version downloaded and installed) I can not seem to get this server running for the life of me and I'm running out of desire to troubleshoot.

remove oculus and any other client side mods from the server
