can anyone explain me abt the func being increasing or decreasing in f(x)=x^3-1 i got the answer thru wavy curve method but im unable to understand thru the graph why is it decreasing in -infinity to 1 even when the func is increasing on increasing c and vice versa

Idt it’s decreasing in that interval…..
Slope is positive in that interval too
Which interval
The one you mentioned
-infinity to 1?
Yeah why do you think it’s decreasing
Thats what im asking because on solving we are getting an inequality acc to which it should be decreasing in -infinity to 1 and thats the correct answer to this question but by graph im not able yo get it
Idt so as f'(x)=3x², becoming zero at {0}
Do not differentiate it is already f’
What eqn did you get? After differentiating the original eqn
😭
Func was x4/4 -x
My bad i forgot to mention💀🤧
This graph is y=x^3-1
Just check the points at which it cuts the x axis
For the f dash x thing
Alright then
Try it with some sample eqns
Btw go with the solving thing if the eqn is big
I e
Cubic or anything else
Reduces errors
But like for a func to be increasing f(x-a)<f(x)<f(x+a) and ye to -inifnity se -1 wale interval me bhi ho raha hai still Ans says it is decreasing
Yeah but i just wanted to understand it thru graphs
Oh my bad I actually get it Now
Depends on the eqn and your call….some eqns are a little lengthy sometimes if plot karne gaye toh….so it’s up to you ki kisse karna hai…..both methods can be used
Yeah thanks
You should know both methods
yeah
But sticking to one helps too
Graphs always make it look way easy
Sochna nhi padega na ki graph seh kru ya solve karke shuru meh….jaise jaise solve Kroge with experience khud pta chalne lagega ki ye graph seh easy hai ya eqn seh
Yeah true
