LegionGo freezes after updating to latest version
Hello there, I'm gonna add some photos to make sure to help describing the issue.
I would like to point out that until the last update everything was working perfectly.I'm experiencing a forced reboot with a black screen and total freeze. It happens when I start games like Elden Ring or emulators so I assume it could be the heavy load. I go into desktop mode And what I see is a warning that my SSD is about to fail. (Photos below)Am I gonna be screwed soon or there is something not going well on the legion go software itself?
Edit: the error seems to be pretty explanatory, just wanna make sure there is not something wrong with hardware or if there is, preparing to buy another one SSD or handheld. Tdp is set on performance and fan to Auto manage

Update: bios is NCN35WW and device crashes INSTANTLY after the Elden Ring loading bar finishes, not even the time to get into world actually. Device isn't hot AT ALL to the touch. Tried going back to NCN32WW but same issue. Fan is at full speed too. If there's something else I can try let me know
Update 2: switched from STAPM mode to STT same result. After "update one" post there is no more message appearing (like the one in photo)
I would suspect the drive overheating based on tha error but it coiuld be a false alarm
im weirded out too as I have the same device, legion go, latest update provides no problem
by any chance of troubleshooting, you opted into the beta or alpha of the operating system or?
because it's posible it's also a false reading but consider my unit doesnt have problems with the ssd i can't think of much aside from the basics
It just started few hours ago, message is no more appearing, I will check out later. For now I'm playing "sky child of light" everything is maxed out and LegionGo is Definitely hot now, like normally used to be, and everything is working good, tdp is performance and fan on auto
I suspect a false reading too cause just the moment I start the game, not that it appears after a while (that could be normal overheat)
Maybe SSD is gonna die soon who knows, I already bought a new one from Amazon 1TB so when this dies I'm gonna replace it btw
No beta or alpha, everything on stable, just updated bios from 35 back to 32 as Lenovo replaced the driver to the old one yesterday (played after it for a couple of hr and no problem whatsoever) and latest bazzite update from desktop mode. that's it
Could the driver be overheating From one day to the next? The room is the same and so the outside
I know it's nothing but maybe this could help
I'm new to Linux sorry, still learning
This is after rebooting right after the crash
-273yup the drive is severely misreading it's temps here but it still PASSES the SMART test which is weird
It's not a false alarm
The legion go SSD overheats
knew as such, the smart properties seem to be false here though
You will only see the warning after rebooting. After that it cools down and the smart test passes
No it's not
You can see on the smart info on the bottom parameters
That his SSD has spent around 1 hour completely overheating
Actually not completely, but semi thermal throttling
I thought the time unit here is in seconds?
Yes and an hour has 3600 seconds
a combined warning and critical is around 46 seconds so it's not pretty long but it can be dangerous to the ssd
You are confusing transition count with time
On a normal system both times should sum up to less than 200
