KDE Plasma freezes at Wayland login only if HDR monitor plugged in
My computer works okay X11. Running Bazzite fully upgraded through the provided utility. Nvidia drivers. Wayland was working fine until one day i turned it on and this issue presented itself. I believe this was the day after I decided to try enabling HDR in the settings but deleting the configs (removing the kscreen config directory, right?) doesn't seem to help. The pc hangs indefinitely on Wayland session login (entirely unresponsive, must shut down but long pressing the power button) and also hangs if i plug the display port cable in while the pc is running. Any idea what the issue may be? Or at least how i could temporarily fix it if it needs to be a plasma bug report?

Known nvidia driver bug, no fix I'm afraid
maybe 565 will fix
For now stick to X11 or make sure HDR is off
How can you disable HDR without logging in with the screen attached?
you can do so with kscreen via tty or by editing the config while in X11
Trying to run kscreen-doctor in another tty just gives qt xcb errors that it can't connect to a display. How do you edit the config from X11?
let me ask this -- any reason you want Wayland at this time?
firefox is broken and crashes constantly and HDR is the only benefit of it over X11 on Nvidia
probably easier to stick with X11
My performance is way better in wayland than x11. Not sure what it is but things were running smoother. Getting a lot of choppiness in X11
should be able to log into the wayland session
switch to TTY from the black screen
and do:
Nah the inputs all freeze up. If i switch immediately after login i can get a tty but it freezes by the time i can type anything
