How to setup bluemap chat plugin?
I'm hosting a server on Apex, and BM Chat implementation requires NGINX to be installed. I assume I can't do that because I cannot access the machine running the server itself, right?

Here's the page detailing the chat installation:
https://bluemap.bluecolored.de/community/Chat.html
And here's the Blue Map Chat plugin itself
https://github.com/Chicken/Auth/tree/master/BlueMap/Chat
You need to ssh into the machine which is not something you can do on apex/shared hosts afaik
Apex is garbage
Thanks! Honestly Apex is the most commonly liked one, from what I saw, I didn’t find any adequate recommendations besides “host your own one”
Where were you looking? Absolutely no one in this discord server or other "in the know" minecraft admin communities would possibly recommend apex
horribly overpriced and they just merged with mcprohosting which is also trash. They do have good hardware now but that was not the case for a LONG time they used Intel Xeons
Mostly on Reddit. I admit today I had 3 players on 2 gb server (which I realize isn't a lot) but still I got blocklag. Can you suggest better options? I previously used Server.pro but found a lot of hate towards them as well
I recommend making a post in #marketplace but here are some of my quick recommendations
- Bloom.host (expensive but slightly less than Apex, but a WAY better host)
- Craftlands
- Pretty much any host that 1) has advertised here and passed Admincraft's reputation check and 2) is in your budget
Free:
- Oracle Cloud free-tier
- MCHost
Note:
2 GB of RAM is not enough to run a server
Damn, I only heard about Bloom. Seems like I looked at wrong places. Thank you!
oh i remembered the most important reason why i picked Apex, it was crossplay out of the box. But I assume GeyserMC is easy to install as any other server plugin, right?
geyser/floodgate is pretty easy to setup, yeah
so long as you read their docs which takes like 5 minutes
Got it, thanks!
ofc!
