Black blazer/trousers for business casual?
[26M] Hey, would like some feedback on this look. Recently found a good offer on a black blazer/trousers and looking to wear it in business casual/events and dress it down a bit with sneakers. Just not sure if black is still too formal or not.

sambas aren't working for me in this iteration
not loving the grey tshirt either
I think it could possibly work if you swapped the grey tee for white and changed out the socks for something that didn't show so much ankle
but unfortunately I fear Rishi has ruined any chance of sambas and tailoring being cool
Ankle socks are kinda cooked unfortunately
Black feels more formal with this jacket option, I wouldn’t have a cropped silhouette on the pant/shoe interaction.
are the pants cropped or are you just holding them that way
they also look cuffed
Lol yeah forgot about that one
Pants are too long so I'm going to get them cropped and was messing to see which height I wanted them at
is this a suit? or are the blazer and pants separates
different
gotcha, in that case I'd be mindful that the fabrics look similar enough that they pass as a suit
hard to tell here
Yeah they look very similar
Thought that with a black blazer it would be hard to wear them with pants colour other than a similar black
black suit + sneakers is inherently challenging due to the implied formality of the black suit but I think if I were going to try it I'd do white hitop chucks/shoes like pottery, white ocbd/tee, and probably a baseball hat so that the shoes aren't the only thing dressing down the look
but honestly I'm not 100% that that would work
Bill mentioned this earlier but the crop is too high for this look, no break is high enough
Also idk what your work dress code is or what kind of events youre dressing for - I'd just be mindful of making this outfit too casual
Yeah the baseball cap could be interesting to add. And I'll go with white shirt and try different shoes. Appreciate it!
Work in marketing/tech so for the work dress code and events even this would be way more on the formal side compared to most
Mostly scared of the opposite and looking too formal
gotcha
i love black suits but its very tough to make them casual because thats on the formal end even for suits
Agreed. I'll mess around with a few more style and lower crop to see how it ends up. Worse case I'll just save it for when I need to go to something formal
Appreciate it
