and if you look at literally the next sentence they asked me when i make stuff i should show it
i was brought up by the american education system i don't read
Shirt is aight
aight lol
Is the text a quote from something
Could you please specify that this is a passion project / not for sale in the future when you post designs?
I know you have before and you were invited to post your work, we’ve just had a history of people attempting to market here and would like to avoid it.
I think the graphic is neat, I am not attached to the text or the size of the logo.
i completely understand and nah i dont want to sell it i do wanna do graphic design in the future but this is just practice stuff. I appreciate an actual response 😄
intresting with the logo do you think it should be smaller?
I would prefer it to be smaller or maybe even on the back centered below the collar personally
I am also almost uniformly Not A Logo Guy
intresting
what do you think about the logo placement in this piece?
It works for some brands (fog, supreme, prl) because of its recognizability but I’m not sure it has the same impact for unknown labels and can detract from what might be a cooler piece
i see that does make a lot of sense
That is more visually interesting and less harsh across the board
The logo is also not immediately recognizable as a logo yk
In the second shirt
yhhh i feel that
Which I think is a positive
do you think that in the first one that the words are not needed
I do not know if I have the cultural context for the quote (if there is one) to make that call
But in the absence of that context I prefer the graphic without the text
i did spend a lot of time on the graphic so maybe it should be more in the light
I think the logo is a little crowded in its box so it looks awkward, the text needs a little adjusting in terms of readability if you want to keep it, the kerning is off in “of a” and the text overlapping the graphic in those colors makes it hard to parse. Agree that the actual graphic is stronger than the rest of the package
its just a lyric from a song i think i just wanted to push the theme
but i think i do like just the graphic
maybe a bit more centered tho
I think you should give the graphic more room, you have to remember that shirts are curved when you wear them so you have a lot less space than it feels when it’s flat, so unless you want to intentionally hide parts of the graphic you should make it a little smaller
For reference put on a t shirt and feel where the side seam is under your armpit
somethin like this?
Then measure from that to where it actually starts to be the “front” of your body
Then you will get a more exact sense
What program are you working in?
If you’re using illustrator you can use actual scale to help
photoshop atm
ohhh i see
i have the program ill check
Photoshop can work in inches too it’s just more annoying tbh
I like illustrator for this because it’s so easy to compare different versions
You have the whole space to make duplicates and modify them next to each other
It’s often worth it to use photoshop only for the parts you really need to, then import those assets into illustrator to play around more quickly
i see
i need to get more into illustrator
i basically exlusivelt use photoshop
Yeah it’s a really great tool for graphic design, working in vector has a ton of benefits
It’s a little confusing at first though
yeah we went through it at the start of the semester but i couldnt get the hang of it
maybe its worth going back to
Even just throwing on some YouTube tutorials for random things you will pick up little tricks to apply to your own work
appreciate the comments brother actually helped me out
i wanna get better BAHA
Holding option when you drag something in illustrator makes a copy when you let go, that’s like the most useful shortcut
Dw it just takes time which is annoying at first but you’ll get better quickly
Also good to do analysis of work you think is good and try to understand why it works
