Graphical artifact in gaming mode after switching from desktop
Hi yall. I noticed earlier today that whenever I return to gaming mode from desktop, an artifact appears where my mouse cursor was last in desktop, and the artifact persists even when I play games. My workaround for it is to restart my system, or just not go into desktop mode unless I have to, which either way is annoying.
My system is a Minisforum UM790 Pro that includes a ryzen 9 7940HS and a radeon 780M, and I installed the HTPC image for reference. The picture attached shows the artifact that showed up right where my mouse was last in desktop mode.

known issue, see https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1267636423847182409
workaround is to either suspend-resume to clear out the artifact, restart the steam client, reboot, or rollback to bazzite image 07/22
if you decide to rollback:
bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 40-stable-20240722
but note this locks you to that OS version. if you want to resume regular updates later, run:
bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stable
Gotcha
Thank you!
Hello guys, any new workarounds to this?
And what are the drawbacks from rolling back the os version rn? I'm having the same issue on an ally x
enable developer mode then go to "power --> restart steam"
old version without the issue (and much older gamescope) is no longer in github as only the last 90 days of images are kept
Is this a permanent fix, or do I have to restart every time I come back from desktop mode?
Suspend-resume should also clear out the artifact, it's currently unknown on what's causing the bug
