If you add 50 ml of something, 50 ml of something else, total volume 100 ml ho gaya, hai na? So, what they are doing is accounting for that increase in volume. If you add same volume or something, then the final volume is doubled and you have to divide that concentration by 2. Is that the part you are asking?
