If you can stretch your budget a bit, Hebtroco have a pair of black boots that are a similar style without the large pull tab

Black oiled suede, tanned in Leeds. Handmade for us by Britain's last remaining traditional heavy work boot maker. A beast of a boot that's good for the pub, walking the hills or even for riding about on your motorbike. We’ve done thousands of miles of all of this in ours, as well as dancing the night away. But that’s another story. Construct...
you could rip the tag off or get it replaced by a smaller/different colored one if you wante the solovairs too
theyre nice but I dont like that tan stripe
who would I go to to get it replaced a leather specialist?
cobbler could probably handle it
cobbler or leatherworker yea
thx will probs do that
I would probably go with Kyns suggestion. This style of boot is quite hard to find outside of Solovair/Doc Martens in the UK unfortunately
at that price point too solovair i think is generally well regarded
really? I thought it was standard and the most common lol
It's a more work style boot which is usually more common to find from US makers in my experience. Especially at the Solovair pricepoint
it's a fairly common shape but (my understanding is that) the intersection of quality and price that solovair offers is good
200 gbp is not a very high price for Good Shoes, you may be able to find Grensons or Trickers secondhand if you dig
There are UK makers like Trickers, William Lennon to name a couple. However they are higher priced than Solovair/DM and with the exception of William Lennon the majority that I've seen are a dressier less rugged shape than the Solovair/DM or other more workwear brands
Meermin can be around that price at retail and Mallorca is privier but you may also be able to find eithe rsecondhand
also yeah both of those brands feel less workwear/rugged
Love my Solovairs. My fiance prefers Frye though. Not sure if they're UK ship friendly:

Buy the Tyler Lace Up Boot and more leather shoes, bags, and accessories, all made with quality leathers and materials by The Frye Company.
For UK maybe check out Grenson. I have a western pair from them that I love. Sizing is odd though so get measured.

entirely depends on your perspective; at least for me solovairs/ doc martens have a very specific and unique look to them, so that almost no other ‘combat’ boot by other makers look similar to them in my opinion
only very few of the other northampton based shoe makers, make boots that I’d consider an alternative to solvairs/ doc martens when it comes to their specific design
da yoox grenson! hot damn
bit chunky but nice brand thx
