Help with server hardware
I want to minmax as far as my budget could go, but if it's only marginal then it's pointless, and I'd rather not to.
So, I have an existing i7 7500u laptop, and I'm comparing it with an acer chromebox that has an i5 10210u processer in it (selling for $70).
How big is the performance leap for a theoretical server that has 20 concurrent players with 30 or so light to mid plugins? Or if it's even feasible or advisable to run a server on a chromebox at all, and if so, is it worth the performance increase for the price it's selling?

Okay, nvm the i5. I found a Core i7-10610U chromebox selling for a little over 50.
What is your budget?
I personally would not get either of those CPUs. They are old and and unreliable for the latest versions
Exactly $70 is my immediate budget, but i could prolly double that if I save for a bit. Ive looked around fb marketplace earlier, and the latest ones i could find were either ryzen 5600g builds and i5 12th gen optiplexes (around $200 tho). Would any of that do?
Going back into this, I've just recently came across a ryzen 9 5900hx mini pc from genmachine, so there's that too ig
thats good
I see, I'll look more into it then
Thanks
That looks incredible sketchy
But probably legit most of the mini pc sellers are obscure Chinese brands
I would recommend the 5600g or maybe the Intel 12th gen depending on which one
I wasn't looking at the listing properly when I looked at it before
The model I was looking at were only barebones, and it was using an ES version of the chip
Mb that's wht it's so cheap
