So basically you would simply run https://fabricmc.net/use/server/ and port forward from your home PC to allow others to join
@emmaisalright
I think port forwarding is where the problems come in
Thank you though that link is helpful
But I have to ask, why would you want to go through the hassle of home hosting, curious
Aternos is slower than a snail and I don't have enough to afford a hosting service
I mean technically I do but I prefer not to, if there's a free option I'll go with it
Aternos is hot trash to put it lightly hehe. But I would recommend a cheap hosting option so you don't have to keep your PC open 24/7, security (you will need to setup security measures so your IP isn't leaked) and if you face CGNAT issues then that's a straight migraine.
Another free option is using a free Oracle instance https://blogs.oracle.com/developers/post/how-to-set-up-and-run-a-really-powerful-free-minecraft-server-in-the-cloud
Though if you are still persistent on home hosting you can check out this tutorial https://www.hostinger.in/tutorials/how-to-port-forward-a-minecraft-server
Someone on reddit offered to help so I'll accept his request, but if it's unhelpful I'll come back here
Good luck! 😄
